Most scripting languages nowadays have tools to install your interpreters and libraries in your working directory. This way your misdoings during development can't mess up your systems installation. It also allows you to adapt and swap your development environment efficiently.

This Workshop is for all of those, who are still fixing their scripts on live systems :-)

We will set up a flexible Perl 5 environment using perlbrew and cpanm. The same concepts can be adopted to other languages like Ruby and Python.

We also will look at a minimal Web-Application in Perl 5, which we will use as an example.

Requirements:
- Some coding experience (no Perl knowledge needed.)
- A Laptop or "smartlearn" (students)
