DESCRIPTION:What's wrong with CPAN Testers? What can we do to improve the t
 esting culture of CPAN? More organizations are using CPAN-like distributio
 ns to manage their Perl deployments\, making the CPAN toolchain more impor
 tant than ever. This talk covers the history\, advantages and disadvantage
 s of the CPAN Testers ecosystem and introduces a new release testing philo
 sophy for the CPAN\, called CPANci. I will present a detailed tour of the 
 technological infrastructure behind CPANci.org\, and a live demo of how CP
 ANci works. The talk concludes with a demonstration of how CPANci can be u
 sed both publicly on the CPAN and within your organization to effect immed
 iate and accurate smoke reports for any CPAN-like distribution release.

 ce with a gui for user interaction. These days I implement most of them wi
 th frontend code written in javascript and a backend in perl. In this talk
  I will present the two libraries which make my life in this respect so mu
 ch simpler. Mojolicious for the backend part and Qooxdoo for the frontend.
  You will see why jQuery and its friends are in no way the end to all ques

DESCRIPTION:Dancer\, one of the web frameworks written in Perl\, became qui
 te popular despite its relatively young age. It is simple to start with\, 
 yet powerful enough to run larger web applications.\n\nAside from being ea
 sy and straightforward\, Dancer is really flexible. The plugin ecosystem p
 rovides features for your web application without further ado. Hooks allow
  you to extend existing functionality without changing someone's else code
 . On top of that you can pick your session\, template and logging engine f
 rom a number of alternatives.\n\nThis presentation teaches you first the b
 asic steps of dancing like adding routes\, building your templates and usi
 ng plugins. To make you more sure-footed on the dance-floor\, the next top
 ics are hooks\, error handling\, logging and Dancer scripts. Finally\, typ
 ical Dancer deployments and a sneak preview about Dancer 2 finish up our D

DESCRIPTION:The culture of testing is now well established within the Perl 
 community as a whole.  It has a similar status within a number of other de
 velopment communities\, or at least it is moving in that direction.  Simil
 arly\, code coverage has become well established as an important testing t
 ool.\n\nI'll provide a brief introduction to code coverage and then focus 
 on how to effectively use the Perl code coverage tool\, Devel::Cover.  Dev
 el::Cover is one of the more fully featured and unobtrusive coverage tools
  of any software language.\n\nTopics to be covered include:\n\n - an intro
 duction to code coverage\n - how to run Devel::Cover\n - how to view and i
 nterpret the results\n - how to integrate Devel::Cover into the build proc
 ess\n\nI'd also like to take a look at some of the work I have recently co
 mpleted in association with my grant from The Perl Foundation to work on D
 evel::Cover\, and then take a look at potential future developments.
